My Opinion on the Recent Supreme Court Ruling on Roe v. Wade

DISCLAIMER
Although this will come across as such, this is not a political post. Must read to the end to fully understand.

It’s crazy how a month ago everyone was heartbroken over innocent children being murdered at a school yet today they’re outraged they don’t have the choice to murder children themselves.

They go on to make arguments for having the right to choose what they do with their own bodies yet last year were complicit in persecuting those who made a personal choice to not get vaccinated.

They make arguments against “outdated” gun laws because we no longer have muskets yet don’t follow that same logic when it comes to what we know now vs fifty years ago scientifically about a fetus.

The hypocrisy is complete lunacy and lacks any logic. It takes any credibility they think they have on the topic and flushes it down the toilet.

People that know me know that I identify as conservative and are surprised when I take the pro-choice side of abortion. Prior to the pandemic I would tell them that it would be hypocritical of me not to be pro-choice when I believe in capital punishment. And now post-pandemic it would be even more hypocritical since I believe I should be able to choose what I do with my body.

I honestly don’t see how anyone could take me seriously if I said one was okay but not the other yet that’s is exactly what the majority of people are doing.

I’m not making an argument here for or against the ruling. This is not a politically charged post. It doesn’t matter which side of the political isle you’re on.

What I am doing is making an argument for being congruent. Look behind why you believe what you believe and make sure you hold yourself to those standards consistently.

If you truly believe “my body my choice” then believe that in all facets and not just abortion or the vaccine. If laws should change because times have changed when it comes to guns, don’t flip on that when it comes to science. It’s okay to change your opinion once you’ve learned more about something, but take that same logic and apply it to your other opinions to see if they’ve changed as well.

Love it or hate it but no one respects someone who is inconsistent in their beliefs.

Be congruent
Be consistent
(Yes, I know they’re synonyms but I’m going for the dramatic finish)

So…

Be congruent
Be consistent
Use logic over emotion to validate your opinions
Be true to yourself
Become respected
